MRS. A. WETZEL

Mrs. Ella Wetzel, who for 18 years lived in LeMars and who considered LeMars her home, passed away in the Ebenezer Home at Minneapolis, Minnesota, early Sunday. Funeral services in memory of Mrs. Wetzel will be held in Calvary Evangelical United Brethren Church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5. The body will lie in state at the church from noon until 2 p.m. Dr. H. H. Kalas, a nephew of the deceased, and Rev. Clarence Dehne will conduct the services.

Mrs. Wetzel was one of nine children who were born near Merrill, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. William Kalas. Three brothers survive. They are John Kalas, of Sioux City, Iowa; Dr. W.E. Kalas of Glendale, Arizona; and Otto E. Kalas, who resides near Merrill.

Rev. Anton Wetzel, the husband of the deceased, was a minister in Iowa and Minnesota for many years. Upon his death, Mrs. Wetzel moved to LeMars in 1938, where she lived until 1956.

Three children survive. They are Harold Wetzel of Hendricks, Minnesota; Mrs. Leonora Ness of Hinkley, Minnesota; and Winston Wetzel of Whitefish, Montana.

Memorials in honor of Mrs. Wetzel may be left at the church at the time of the funeral in lieu of flowers.
