MRS. O. ASMUSSEN

Mrs. Marie Johanna Asmussen, LeMars, died Friday, June 21, 1957, at the Sacred Heart Hospital in LeMars. She had been sick for several months and in the hospital for one week. She was the wife of Oscar Asmussen, a prominent LeMars farmer.

Mrs. Asmussen was born September 8, 1908, Grant Township, Plymouth County. Oscar Asmussen and Marie Johanna Harms were marred December 23, 1930, in LeMars. She was the daughter of Siebel and Etta Harms.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday (today) June 24, at St. Johns American Lutheran Church. Rev. L. L. Belk officiated. Burial was in the LeMars City Cemetery. Mauer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include: the husband, Oscar; five children, Arvaughn, Seattle, Washington, Verlyn, Seattle, Washington, Derwyn, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Vonnie and Dianne at home; also three grandchildren; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Siebel Harms, LeMars; and three brothers, Harm, Fred, and Jurgen, all of LeMars.

The deceased was preceded in death by one son, Alvern Lyle.
