LOWELL SWANSON

Lowell Ernest “Swanee” Swanson, 78, 4101 Gordon Drive, Lot 115, retired farmer and night service manager at Palmer House Service Station, died Sunday in a Sioux City hospital after a seven-week illness.

Services were held at 10 a.m. this Thursday in the Grace Evangelical Church in Hinton, Iowa. The Rev. William L. Paden officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville, Iowa.

Mr. Swanson was born Nov. 23, 1903, in Thurston, Neb., and attended Thurston schools.

He married Lena K. Stuessi Sept. 5, 1942, at Dakota City. He farmed at Lawton, Iowa, and Hinton before moving to Sioux City in 1957. He was night service manager at the Palmer House Service Station about 20 years.

He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church.

Survivors include his wife; one sister, Mrs. Lewis (Gladys) Foster of Moville; and three brothers, Elmer L. of Tucson, Ariz., Raymond G. of Hinton and Donald A. of Sioux City.
