REMSEN PRIEST DIES

Many priests in Sioux City and the Sioux City dioceses attended final rites Tuesday at 10 a.m. for Rev. F.X. Schulte, former pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Remsen, Ia. Rev. Schulte succumbed Friday at a LeMars, Ia., hospital after an illness of several months.

Bishop Edmund Heelan of the Sioux City diocese officiated and interment was at Remsen. Rev. Schulte was ordained June 24, 1883. He retired from the pastorate in March 1925, after serving many years in Remsen.

Rev. H.J. Schleier now is pastor of the Remsen parish.
