KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Alta "Billie" Meister, 94, of Sioux City, formerly of Kingsley, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Kingsley. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.
Alta was born Sept. 15, 1907, in Eldora, Iowa. She married Louis Meister in 1938. After their marriage, they purchased the Anchor Inn Cafe in Kingsley. They operated the cafe until their retirement in 1972. After their retirement, they continued to live in Kingsley until they moved to Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in December 1999. Louis died Nov. 18, 2000.
She was a member of United Methodist Church, Garden Club and Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Arnold "Arnie" and Mary Meister of Le Mars, Iowa; a granddaughter, Jessica Meister of Correctionville, Iowa; and a grandson, Jon Meister of Le Mars.
