IRETON, Iowa -- Edna Marshall, 75, of Ireton died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Plymouth Manor in Le Mars, Iowa, where she had been a resident for the brief time.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton, with the Rev. Warren Prochnow officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be until 4 p.m. Sunday at Porter Funeral Home in Ireton. Visitation with the family present will resume at 5 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the church.
Edna was born May 13, 1927, in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of John "Dick" and Mary (Nannen) Frerichs.
She married Russell Marshall on Feb. 18, 1946, in Sioux City. Together, they lived northwest of Hawarden, Iowa, for four years before farming near Chatsworth, Iowa. In 1966, the family moved to Ireton, where she was a supervisor for an Atlas Company from 1976 to 1986. She then sold church and town celebration memorabilia for several advertising companies.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She served as the family genealogist.
Left to mourn her are her husband, Russell; three sons, Kenneth Marshall of Omaha, Ronald Marshall of New Richmond, Wis., and Gary Marshall and his wife, Karen of Vermillion, S.D.; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Rodney Kuecker of Ireton; a brother and his wife, Herb and Margaret Frerichs of Akron, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Ella Frerichs of Akron; seven grandchildren, Jeff Marshall and his wife, Hayley, Jamie Marshall, Ryan Marshall, Rob Marshall, Kelly Marshall, Veronica Jaqua and Cory Jaqua; two stepgrandchildren, Laura and her husband, Mark Hofland and Jacob Kuecker; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Clara Sathoff; and four brothers, Albert, Ben, Lewis and Edwin Frerichs.
