AKRON, Iowa -- Evelyn A. Mahan, 94, of Akron died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Akron Care Center.

Memorial services will be 7:30 p.m. today at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron, with the Rev. Eric Koenig of First Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation.

Evelyn A. Mahan was born Feb. 11, 1907, in Sioux City, the daughter of Victor and Ella (Johnson) Anderson. Evelyn lived in Colorado for 30 years before returning to Akron.

In 1985, she married Bill Mahan, who preceded her in death April 9, 1993.

She is survived by her family, Lee and Helen Anderson of Bonita Springs, Fla., Helen and Merlin Woodley of Akron and Ken and Marge Anderson of Naples, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Judy Klemme of Akron and her children, Melissa Plueger, Susan Klemme, Michael Klemme and Lindsay Klemme; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Pearl Cheever.
