GRANVILLE, Iowa -- Ronald L. Kreber, 44, of Waukee, Iowa, formerly of Granville, died of leukemia on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church in Sully, Iowa. Burial will be in Sully Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella, Iowa. Visitation will resume 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Mr. Kreber was born Nov. 22, 1957, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Lorraine (Pottebaum) Kreber. He graduated from the Catholic school in Granville in 1976, where he played the catcher on the baseball team. He received a scholarship from Wayne State College to play baseball and graduated with a degree in business in 1980.

He married Bonita J. Brand on April 9, 1988, in Sully. He was currently employed with Accenture as an account manager, He had previously worked at Meredith Publishing in business systems, Citibank in Sioux Falls, S.D., as a computer programmer and with Grinnell Mutual as a marketing representative.

He was a member of United Methodist Church in Waukee and served as chairman of the bond referendum at the Waukee School System. He enjoyed sports, golfing and coaching his kids sports teams.

Survivors include his wife, Bonita of Waukee; three sons, Michael Lee (11), Austin Joel (8) and Colton Taylor (6), all at home; his parents of Alton, Iowa; three sisters, Janet Kreber of Brighton, Iowa, Shirley and her husband, Jim Thompson of Lincoln, Neb., and Rose and her husband, Garry Eichorn of Bettendorf, Iowa; two brothers, Charles Kreber of Granville and Glenn Kreber of Greeley, Colo.; and a stepgrandmother, Marian Pottebaum of Remsen, Iowa.
