REMSEN, Iowa -- Lloyd P. Krug, 55, of Remsen died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, with the Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday, with a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.
Lloyd was born Aug. 4, 1949, in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Marjorie (Chizum) Krug. He was raised in the Garrison, Iowa, area and received his education in Garrison, graduating from Garrison Consolidated School in 1967. He then attended Iowa State University in Ames, graduating in 1971 with a degree in farm operations.
On Aug. 22, 1970, he married Renee Groepper in Remsen. They made their home in Ames until he finished his education. In 1971, they moved to Remsen to farm. On March 13, 2004, he retired from farming because of health reasons.
He was a former member of the Plymouth County Zoning. He was a member of Coon Creek Model Railroad Club in Le Mars, Iowa. He enjoyed camping and being in the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. Farming was his calling in life.
Survivors include his wife, Renee of Remsen; three daughters, Heidi and her husband, Stuart Klingbeil of Le Mars, Iowa, Teri and her husband, Derek DuBay of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Jena Krug at home; five sons, Jeff and his wife, Jenni of Brunsville, Iowa, Philip, Mark, Randy and Steve, all at home; 10 grandchildren; his parents, Kenneth and Marjorie Krug of Garrison, Iowa; two sisters, Connie Sue and her husband, Milo Kearns of Shellsberg, Iowa, and Kathy Krug of West Branch, Iowa; four brothers, David of North Liberty, Iowa, Larry and his wife, Allyn of Long Grove, Iowa, Lyle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Tom of Oak Harbor, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeff, Philip, Mark, David, Larry and Lyle Krug, Stuart Klingbeil and Derek DuBay.
