Mark Kreitzinger, 60, of Zellwood, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at the Florida Hospital in Orlando.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Preston Township, rural Akron, Iowa with the Rev. William Kallestad officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Wasmer Post 241 of Le Mars. Visitation will be after 7:30 p.m. Friday at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.
Mark Thomas Kreitzinger was born Feb. 24, 1943, in Sioux City, to Robert and Ruth (Nelson) Kreitzinger. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Nannen on Dec. 11, 1966, at St. John Lutheran Church, Preston Township, rural Akron. He served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the U.S. Navy. He earned the rank of chief quarter master. He also worked for several years as a merchant marine. He had been a volunteer firefighter for several years and was an instructor with the Florida Fire College Institute.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Philip Lutheran Church in Dora, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marilyn (Nannen) Kreitzinger of Zellwood, Fla.; a son and his wife, Michael and Marlo Kreitzinger of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter and her husband, Melissa and Tom Nicholas of Fairmont, W.V.; three grandchildren, Jordan, Gabrielle and Thomas Nicholas; a brother and his wife, Jim and Beverly Kreitzinger of Des Moines; two sisters, Norberta Mead and Ruth Servine, both of Spokane, Wash.; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Chris Kreitzinger.
