OCCUPATION: He was raised in LeMars and graduated from St. Joseph’s Parochial School. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army as a cook on a transport train that carried troops home. After his marriage, the couple made their home in LeMars, where he was employed with Nuebel Grocery for 37 years. He was later employed for several years with Ben Franklin and Rust’s Western Shed.

SURVIVORS: …include his wife; two sons and their wives, James and Patricia of Atlanta, Ga., and Gerry and Mary of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; and two brothers and their wives, Vince and Anita of Kansas City, Mo., and Gene and Sharon of LeMars.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …five brothers, Joe, Bill, Lou, Dick and Robert in infancy; and three sisters, Mary Zimmer, Rose Van Huff and Elizabeth in infancy.
