OCCUPATION: He moved with his family to Remsen where he was raised. He began employment with the City of Remsen in 1936. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Remsen. In 1952, he was appointed City Clerk. In 1981, he was appointed public works director, a position he held until resigning in 1984. He was appointed to the Utility Board of Trustees in 1985, a position he currently held. His wife died Feb. 24, 1994.

SURVIVORS: …include two sons and their wives, Steve and Judi of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Joe and Carla of Gilbert, Ariz.; three daughters, Lynn Z. Madsen of Fairmont, Minn., Jayne Z. and her husband John Schiesel of Point Reyes, Calif., and Kay Z. and her husband, Bob Moore of Grand Rapids, Minn.; a son-in-law, David Delperdang of Remen; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
