REMSEN, Iowa -- Delores Zeig, 86, of Remsen died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, with the Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Remsen. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday, with a 3 p.m. rosary by St. Mary's Guild and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

Delores was born Dec. 5, 1918, in rural Oyens, Iowa, the daughter of Mike and Elizabeth (Stabell) Ludwig. She was raised in the Oyens area and received her education at St. Catherine's Catholic School in Oyens.

On Oct. 28, 1941, she married Cloyd Zeig at Le Mars. They lived in Omaha, Neb., Shenandoah, Iowa and Cherokee, Iowa, before settling in Remsen in 1948. They started the Royal Cleaners in 1948, which they operated until retiring in 1982. Delores had been a resident of the Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen since November, 2003. Cloyd died Dec. 11, 2003.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the church Guild. Delores enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards and loved to travel.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Karen and Larry Beckmann of Remsen and Kim and Ray Wilkens of Le Mars; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren to include Dan and his wife, Debbie Beckmann and their children, Kassie, Tyler and Abby, all of Omaha, Neb.; Michelle and her husband, Russ Schroeder and their children, Cameron, Danielle, Shelby and Noah, all of Remsen; Jaime and her husband, Matt Homan and their son, Devin, all of Remsen; Becky Wilkens and her special friend, Matt Taylor of Ames, Iowa and Sara Wilkens of Le Mars; a sister, Marie Kellen of Remsen; a brother, Ronald Ludwig of Alton, Iowa; a stepbrother, Bill Theisen of Le Mars; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin siblings in infancy, two sisters, Betty, as a young child and Olivia Wiltgen; four brothers, Cletus, Fritz, Eddie and Gordon Ludwig; and a granddaughter, Jessica Wilkens.

Pallbearers will be Dan Beckmann, Matt Homan, Russ Schroeder, Matt Taylor, Mike Kellen and Ron Ludwig.
