Virginia M. Southwell, 81, of Lawton, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Kingsley Cemetery in Kingsley, Iowa, with the Rev. Harold Werley officiating. Visitation with the family present will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Virginia was born July 17, 1921, in Alcester, S.D., the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Kirkus) Southwell. She graduated from Kingsley High School and later from N.B.T. in Sioux City. She moved to Sioux City in 1941. She had been a secretary with Wincharger Corp. in Sioux City, later known as Zenith Corp., for 37 years, retiring in 1979.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Southwell of Monroe, La.; a niece, Ann Southwell of Houston, Texas; a nephew, Joe Southwell of Monroe, La.; a great-niece, Kasady Southwell; a great-nephew, Zack Southwell; and a great-great-nephew, Kameron.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Southwell.
