LE MARS, Iowa -- Lucille K. Schultz, 88, of Le Mars died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, with the Rev. Benjamin Meeks officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Lucille Katherine Schultz was born Nov. 12, 1915, near Le Mars to William and Mathilda (Draheim) Schultz. Lucille was raised on the family farm in Stanton Township and attended country school near her home. She graduated from Le Mars Central High School. Following high school, Lucille attended a school in Boulder, Colo., where she learned the secretarial skills to work in hospitals in the medical records department. Lucille had worked in the medical records departments of several hospitals in Northwest Iowa. She retired in the late 1970s after working for a medical practice in Sioux City.
Lucille loved to sew and had sewn her own clothes in her youth. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting in her spare time. She also enjoyed tending to her garden and canning the fruits of her labor.
Survivors include her dear friends, LaVon and Jack Holton of Merrill, Iowa; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert in 1970.
Pallbearers will be Mathew Schultz, Jennifer Schultz, Tim Schultz, John Holton, Mary Holton, Annette Sitzmann, Rachel Schultz, Sarah Schultz, Alan Holton and Andrew Schultz.
