WALTER W. EBERHARD

Walter W. Eberhard, 80, Merrill, a Plymouth County native, died Wednesday (Oct. 12, 1977) at Marian Health Center, St. Joseph unit, Sioux City, after a brief illness. He had been hospitalized ten days.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, Merrill. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery, Ellendale.

A prayer-wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Luedtke funeral home in LeMars. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.

He was born May 9, 1897, at Merrill to Charles and Minnie Kallas Eberhard. He married Rose Yoerger Sept. 23, 1918, at Merrill.

The couple farmed in Stanton township until 1967 when they retired to Merrill.

Survivors are his wife; a son Norman T. of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Joyce) Treinen of LeMars; his step-mother, Mrs. Meta Eberhard of Rialto, Calif.; five brothers, Rudolf, LeMars, Harold of Mitchell, S.D., Robert of Kingsley, Willard of Buelton, Calif., and Eldon of Riverside, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wetrosky of Alcester, S.D., Mrs. Delbert (Claire) Raby of Merrill, Mrs. Harold (Leona) Jack of Rialto, Calif., Mrs. Lorene Meek of San Bernadino, Calif., and Mrs. Evelyn Conjurski of Rialto; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl, and a sister, Lucille.
