DOUBLE FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MR. AND MRS. WALTER EBERHARD

Double funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eberhard, both Merrill natives, and lifetime residents, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Assumption, Merrill.

Rev. James Bruck officiated and burial was in St. Joseph’s cemetery at Ellendale.

Mr. Eberhard, 80, died Wednesday (Oct. 12, 1977) at Sioux City Marian Health Center, St. Joseph unit, after a brief illness. His obituary was published in the Thursday Daily Sentinel.

Mrs. Eberhard, 73, had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the same hospital for several weeks.

Rose Yoerger Eberhard died Friday, (Oct. 14, 1977) at St. Joseph’s hospital.

She was born Feb. 6, 1899, at Merrill to Mr. and Mrs. Max Yoerger. She was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters and the Altar society of the Church of the Assumption.

The couple’s marriage took place Sept. 23, 1918, at Merrill.

Mr. Eberhard was born May 9, 1897, at Merrill to Charles and Minnie Kallas Eberhard. The Eberhard’s farmed in Stanton township until 1967, when they moved to Merrill.

The couple is survived by a son Norman T., Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Joyce) Treinen, LeMars; and nine grandchildren.

Mrs. Eberhard is survived by four brothers, Ray, Frank, and Harry Yoerger, all of Merrill, and Charles of Independence.

Mrs. Eberhard was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother.
