DORA M. STEINFADT

LE MARS, Iowa—Dora M. Steinfadt, 92, of LeMars, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A., in LeMars, with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, with the family present after 7 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home, in LeMars.

Mrs.Steinfadt was born Oct. 27, 1906, in Sioux County, Iowa, the daughter of Sipka and Geertji (Schaaf) Andriessen. She graduated from Ireton (Iowa) High School in 1924. She then taught school.

She married Herman Steinfadt on March 13, 1926, in Elk Point, S.D. She was employed as a floor supervisor for Kohout Overall Factory in LeMars, which later became Aalfs Manufacturing, from 1943 until retiring in 1972. He died Oct. 2, 1971.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. and enjoyed quilting, tatting and making afghans.

Survivors include five daughters, Betty Stinton, Joyce Moritz and Gladys and her husband, Clarence Kock, all of LeMars, Delores Day of Roswell, N.M., and Mavis and her husband, Rudy Tonne of Fairmont, Minn.; three sons and their wives, Donald and Virginia of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Harold and Bonnie of Jefferson, Iowa, and Marlan and Diane of LeMars; 32 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Don Lowry, of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by two great-granddaughters, three sons-in-law, five sisters and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be Mike Powell, David Stinton, Don Rolling, Craig, Jim and Scott Steinfadt.
