PARENTS: James and Alice (Dickerson) Solomon
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 1st MARRIAGE: Lula B. Groves, Dec. 5, 1923, in Merrill, Iowa; she died Nov. 30, 1964 in Sioux City.
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 2nd MARRIAGE: Opal Mertie Groves Traugh Dec. 11, 1970, in Sioux City. She died Feb. 19, 1978, in Sioux City.
OCCUPATION: He grew up in Plymouth County and then lived around Burbank, S.D., for 18 years before moving to Sioux City in 1944. Mr. Solomon worked for Sioux City Battery Co., for many years in the maintenance department and as an electrician until the plant closed in 1956. He then ran a service station in North Sioux City for nine years, and then worked as a machinist for Sioux Tractor until retiring in 1971.
SURVIVORS: …include a son and his wife, Orville and Maurine Solomon of Sioux City; a brother, John Herman Solomon of Sioux City; 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; a stepson, Glenn Groves of Sioux City; a stepdaughter, Virginia Hummel of Elk Point, S.D.; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …a son, Harry; two daughters, Leonia and Hazel; seven brothers, James, a twin brother Tom, Hubert, Charles, Roscoe, Frankie and Ted; and a sister, Flora.
