ETTA MAE SIMEON
Etta Mae Simeon, 86, of Sioux City, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, following a long illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nativity Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Simeon was born Oct. 2, 1912, in Remsen, Iowa, the daughter of Harm and Lillian (Ebrecht) Johnson. She was raised in Remsen and attended Remsen High School.
She married Raymond J. Simeon on May 28, 1935, in Ida Grove, Iowa. He died in June of 1992 in Sioux City.
She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church, Ladies Guild and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed needlework, card playing and traveling.
Survivors include five daughters and their husbands, Mary Ann and Ed Frank of Sioux City, Patricia and Arlen Wiggs of Eufala, Okla., Marlene and Joseph Kruse of South Sioux City, Loretta and Don Bentson of Sioux City, and Virginia “Ginger” and Dewey Blatchford of Omaha; five sons, Raymond “Skip” and his wife, Dee, of Hatfield, Pa., John J. of Sioux City, Chuck and his wife, Linda, of Dickinson, N.D., Jim and his wife, Teresa of Wayne, Neb., and Erwin Clouse of Morongo Valley, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Nonie Dhuaime and Marie Perley, both of Sioux City; 32 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Frank; a sister, Anna; and two grandchildren, Shane Kruse and Melonie Ann Clouse.
