GRACE SPANGLER
KINGSLEY, Iowa—Grace Ellen (Woods) Spangler, 69, a former Kingsley resident, died Thursday, June 7, 1996, at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas, Calif.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kingsley Cemetery with the Rev. Arthur Hermanson officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Earnest-Dickinson-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.
Mrs. Spangler was born Jan. 18, 1927, in Kingsley, the daughter of Everett and Etta (Bainbridge) Woods. She grew up in the Kingsley area and graduated from Kingsley High School.
She married Ralph L. Spangler June 7, 1953, at Kingsley. They couple lived in the Kingsley area and also lived and farmed near Climbing Hill. They moved to Van Nuys, Calif., in 1964. They returned to Iowa in 1974 and lived at Pierson.
Mr. Spangler died Dec. 3, 1974. She moved to Kingsley and then returned to Salinas in 1978 to be near her family.
She had worked as a central supply technician at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for 18 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Merletta Tindle of Salinas; a sister, Blanche and her husband, William “Gene” Conaway, of Kingsley; two brothers, James Woods and his wife, Pat, of Kingsley and Clayton Woods, of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Roanna, Charles and Crystal, and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
