Jo Heuertz, 53, of Pierre, S.D., and formerly of Le Mars, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at her home.

Jo was born Feb. 28, 1955, in Murdo, S.D., the daughter of Bernard and Lois (Worcester) Jaide. She grew up in Murdo where she attended school.

She worked for a trucking company in Le Mars as a bookkeeper. She then went to work for Wells' Dairy Inc. before moving to Pierre in 2006 where she managed KFC/Taco Bell.

When her kids were younger she enjoyed helping them show horses. Jo especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Jo is survived by two sons, Travis and wife Juliane of Pierre and Trent and wife Tiffany of Webster, S.D., and one daughter Tobi and husband John Pickett of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three grandchildren: Natalie, Ely and Caleb; her mother Lois Jaide of Murdo, S.D., and one sister Anita Hall of Sioux Falls.

She was preceded in death by her father; a grandson Brendan and a brother Kenny.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre, with burial in Scotty Philip Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Isburg Funeral Chapel in Pierre, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
