Funeral Monday for Gregor Pick

Gregor H. Pick, 73, lifelong Remsen area resident, died Friday July 16 at Spencer Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Pick were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 19 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church here. Rev. Richard Birdsall officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery.

Greg was born March 21, 1903 at Remsen, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Pick.

His marriage to Theresa Minten took place June 25, 1935 at Alton. Greg was custodian of St. Mary’s Catholic church and school here for 14 years and was also the owner of Pick’s Summer Resort at Arnolds Park, Iowa.

Surviving are his widow, Theresa of Remsen; two sons, Larry of Arnolds Park, Ia. and Tom of Brentwood, Tenn.; four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Clara Johnson of Remsen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

The Fisch funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Walter Johnson, Dennis Langel, Ronnie Minten, Glenn Pick, Jake Pick and John Pick.
