JOHN BARINSKY DIES,
FUNERAL SATURDAYFuneral services for John Henry Barinksy, 77, will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s American Lutheran Church. Rev. L.L. Belk will officiate and burial will be in the city cemetery under the direction of Mauer’s funeral home.
Mr. Barinsky had been in poor health the past two years. He entered Sacred Heart hospital two weeks ago and died there Thursday, Aug. 14, at 1:30 a.m.
He was born Nov. 24, 1874, in Lowden, Cedar County, Iowa, and came with his parents to Plymouth County in 1885. He farmed in Johnson township until his retirement in 1917.
His marriage to Anna Hoffman took place Oct. 16, 1901, at the Preston township Lutheran Church. His wife survives him as do a sister, Mrs. Carolyn Woll of LeMars, 10 nieces and 19 nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and three sisters.
Mr. Barinksy was a member of the Brotherhood of the American Lutheran Church and served as an officer of St. John’s Lutheran Church board on various occasions.
