Faith Miranda Lynn Valdes-Luna, 4-month-old daughter of Carolyn and Israel Valdes-Luna, died suddenly Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Faith Miranda Lynn Valdes-Luna was born Oct. 4, 2004, in Sioux City, the daughter of Carolyn (Brown) and Israel Valdes-Luna. Baby Faith will be deeply missed by her foster family, Mike and Sue Popken and their children, Jen, Jake, and Joe.

Survivors include her birth parents, Carolyn Valdes-Luna of Le Mars and Israel Valdes-Luna of Kentucky; foster parents, Mike and Sue Popken of Hinton and their children; two sisters, Angel Brown and Esperanza "Hope" Valdes-Luna; maternal grandmother, Eydie Cook-Boothe and her husband, Brian of Le Mars; her special "Papa" Scott Tiesler of Hinton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Phillip Brown.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, with the Rev. Ken Hsu of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sioux City officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery, Le Mars. Visitations will be after 4 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Carlsen Funeral Home with the families present to greet friends after 5 p.m.

Pallbearers will be David Massey, Leonard Barker, Joe Brown, and Brian Boothe.
