Francis Gregory Bauler, 94, of Kingsley, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at his residence in Kingsley after a brief illness.

Francis was born Dec. 22, 1911, at rural Oyens, the son of Peter and Ann (Treweiler) Bauler. He grew up in the rural Kingsley, area, attending the Union Consolidated School. On Sept. 27, 1938, he married Florence Galles at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. They made their home in the Kingsley area until retiring in 1975, when they moved to Kingsley.

He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley.

Survivors include his wife, Florence of Kingsley' three sons, Terry Bauler and his wife, Lois of Spring Hill, Fla., Jim Bauler of Remsen, and Jeff Bauler and his wife, Linda of Iowa City; four daughters, Nancy Willis and her husband, Craig of Iowa City, Judy Bauler of Guthrie Center, Bonnie Klohs and her husband, Kirk of Le Mars, and Shelly Bauler of Kingsley; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley, with the Rev. Thomas J. Topf officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation begins after 4 p.m. today (Thursday) with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7 p.m. at the Rohde ~ Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley.
