Melvin G. Koerner, 63, Le Mars native and lifelong resident, died Tuesday (Aug. 27, 1991) at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars with Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be after 2 p.m. today (Thursday) with the family present from 7-8 p.m.
He was born Feb. 20, 1928, in Le Mars, the son of Herbert and Helen Mauer Koerner. He married Margaret Kramer May 11, 1975, at Vermillion.
Mr. Koerner was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was a retired and had been a building mason all of his life, employed by Wiltgen Construction, DeYoung Construction and Kramer Construction throughout the years.
Survivors are his wife Margaret of Le Mars; seven daughters, Renae Von Hagel, Kelley Ellensohn, Dawn Sitzmann, Michelle Koerner, Shawn Koerner, Angela Koerner, and Diane Kraft; two sons, Doug Van Voorst and Terry Van Voorst, and twelve grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rodney; three brothers, Bob, Dale and Richard and two sisters, Shirley and Mavis.
