Etta Albert, 89, Canton, S.D., a Le Mars native, died Oct. 21, 1978 at the Canton Inwood hospital.
Funeral services were held Oct. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist church in Canton. Internment was in Le Mars Memorial cemetery.
Grandsons Gene Courtney, Curtis Courtney, Jeffrey Albert, Terry Carlson, Douglas Measner and Duane Measner were casketbearers.
Etta Null Albert was born March 27, 1889 near Le Mars to William and Etta Null. She grew to womanhood on a farm near Le Mars. Her marriage to Henry Albert took place March 12, 1912. They farmed in Sioux county until moving to South Dakota in 1926 where they continued to farm until his death in 1944.
Mrs. Albert moved back to Le Mars where she lived for 23 years. She then returned to Canton and lived there until her death.
She was a life-long member of the Methodist church and was active in women’s organizations of her church.
Survivors are a son, Kenneth of Sioux Falls; three daughters, Mildred Courtney and Vera Carlson both of Canton and Fern Measner of New Richmond, Wis. There are 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
