JACOB KOENIG OF LE MARS, DIES
Jacob G. Koenig, 70, prominent LeMars realtor and insurance man, died unexpectedly there Sunday. He was stricken while walking into the post office and died at his home.
Mr. Koenig was born January 19, 1880, at LeMars. He was a lifelong resident and an active civic leader there.
He organized and served as captain of Company K of LeMars with the United States Army during the Mexican border clashes in 1914. His company also served in World War I with the American expeditionary force in France.
He was an honorary colonel on the staff of Gov. Dan W. Turner and resumed his insurance business in LeMars after the war.
