MRS. MARY KEATING PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Mary Keating died at her home here Sunday afternoon following a two months illness.
She was born December 23, 1846, in Ireland and came to the United States with her parents when she was six months of age, locating at Auburn, N.Y. The family lived there until she was 12 years old and then moved to Harvard, Ill., where she was married February 22, 1863, coming to Monona County, Iowa, with her husband in 1868.
The couple lived there two years and then moved to Remsen, Iowa, where they operated a boarding house in the depot for Blair and Walker contractors on the Illinois Central railroad project.
In 1898 Mrs. Keating and her family moved to the farm here where she died.
Survivors are two sons, James Francis and Jeremiah of this vicinity and one daughter, Mrs. John J. Harvey, of Sioux City.
