KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Florin N. Moodie, 88, of Kingsley died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley, with the Rev. Thomas J. Topf of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Nash Post 140 of Kingsley. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Florin was born Feb. 27, 1913, in Lee County, Iowa, the son of Justus D. and Bertha (Anzinger) Moodie. Florin lived in the Lee County area until he was six years old at which time his family moved to Ayrshire, Iowa.
He married Dorothea Hough on Jan. 5, 1940, in Des Moines. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. They moved to Kingsley in 1946, where Florin worked as an electrician. Dorothea died March 19, 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, LaDonna Kay Kindig and her husband, Robert of Anthon, Iowa; two sons, Nevin Jay Moodie and his wife, Becky of Moville, Iowa, and Curtis Lee Moodie and his wife, Patty of Kingsley; eight grandchildren, Doug Perkins, Heather Huck, Robin Ritter, Amy Trosper, Adam Moodie, Cliff Moodie, Molli Moodie and Justus Moodie; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothea; three brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
