Dixie Richardson

KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Dixie Richardson, 61, lifelong resident of Kingsley, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at a later date following cremation. Arrangements are under the direction of Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Dixie Lee Ward was born June 14, 1942, in Kingsley, the daughter of Homer and Clara (Zimmerman) Ward. She was raised in Kingsley and graduated from Kingsley High School.

She married William D. Quade in 1963, at United Methodist Church in Kingsley. The couple made their home in Kingsley, where she was a homemaker. William passed away in April 1971.

She and Robert Richardson were united in marriage on July 16, 1987, at United Methodist Church in Kingsley. They lived in Kingsley and this allowed her to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Kingsley.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert of Kingsley; two sons, Todd Quade and Eric Quade and his wife, LeAnne, all of Kingsley; a daughter, Kristi Shetler of Kingsley; three grandchildren, Julee and Austin Shetler and Nolan Quade, all of Kingsley; three brothers, Chuck Ward of Fruita, Colo., Gary Ward and his wife, Donna, of Bemidji, Minn., and Duane Ward of Kingsley; three sisters, Charlene and her husband, Gary Nuzum, of Sioux City, Janice and her husband, Myron Wimmer, of Kingsley and Mary Koch of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; a sister, Shirley Hawkison; and a niece, Shannon Koch.
