Mrs. Rose Jans
Rose W. Jans passed away November 13, 1956 at the San Jose Rest Home. She was born February 8, 1882 in Benton County. Iowa. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Utesch. She lived on a farm in Plymouth county. She married Fred Jans in 1898. They moved to Hartway, Minn. where they farmed for several years. In 1928 she moved with her family to San Jose California.
She leaves to mourn her death three sons: Art and Harvey of San Jose, Calif., Fred of San Francisco, Calif.: two daughters, Mrs. Irene Olson of San Francisco and Mrs. Ora Sodon of Yakima, Wash.: six grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren: thre brothers, Paul, Bert and William, all of Le Mars, her parents, two bothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Pall bearers were her two sons, Fred and Art: her grandsons, Dave Nelson, Harvey Jans, Milo Jans, and Danny Horst. The funeral services were held at the Darling Fisher Garden Chapel. Dr Joyce Wesley Farr officiated. Interment was in the Oak Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in San Jose, Calif.A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled:
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The bond His love has given
And though the body slumbers here.
