KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Roy E. Hinz, 40, of Kingsley died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Earnest and Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Roy Eugene Hinz was born Aug. 26, 1961, in Sioux City. He was the son of Ray and Patricia (Rasmussen) Hinz. He grew up in Newcastle, Neb., and graduated from high school there. He graduated from Western Iowa Tech with an associate degree in nursing and at the time of his death was a nurse at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Roy married Vicky McCain on June 21, 1985, at Kingsley United Methodist Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, farming, restoring antique tractors, fishing, deer hunting and collecting toy antique tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky of Kingsley; a son, Jeremiah Hinz of Lincoln, Neb.; a daughter, Jenny Hinz of Kansas City, Kan.; his father, Ray and his wife, Doris Hinz of Newcastle; a stepson, Christopher Aeder and his special friend, Kelley Ostermyer of Le Mars; a grandson, Cole Aeder; his grandparents, Harry and Rachel Rasmussen of Obert, Neb.; a brother, Carl and his wife, Brenda Hinz of Newcastle; and his wife's parents, Bert and Joan McCain of Kingsley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia.
