LaVerne Beeck, 88, of Morgan Hill, Calif., and a Le Mars area native, died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 9, 20008, at Pacific Hills Manor in Morgan Hill, Calif.

The former LaVerne Brunken was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Le Mars.

She is survived by seven sons and two daughters; Ronald, Donald, Carol Whyte, Russell, Dale, Paul, Larry, Keith, and Patricia Barnes. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Caroline Brunken, her husband John Beeck and her son Douglas.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, Calif., with interment at 11 a.m. at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2225 Los Gatos Almaden Rd, San Jose, Calif. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, Morgan Hill, Calif.
