CHARLES K. MEINS SR.

Charles K. Meins Sr., 75, of Manchester, N.H. formerly of Akron, died Friday, October 31, 2003, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester following a brief illness.

Services were held November 5, at J.N. Boufford and Sons Funeral Home in Manchester. Burial was in New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.

Mr. Meins was born in Akron on December 13, 1927, the son of Frederick Wilhelm Albert and Margaretta Elise (Mangelsen) Meins. He had been a resident of Manchester for the past ten years.

He served in the U.S. Army and held a membership in the American Legion William Sweeney Post. He also was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.

Survivors include his wife, Alice J. (Carstensen) Meins; a son, Charles K. Meins Jr. of Chelmsford, MA; two grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Lafrenz of Luverne, MN., Evelyn Taggart of Vermillion, and Anna Wilkinson of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter.
