Ruth M. Hartman, 87, of Sioux City died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Westwood Nursing & Rehab Center following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Lee Williamson of Crescent Park United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Ruth M. Hartman was born Aug. 4, 1917, in Kingsley, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Vera (Pierce) Knudsen. She grew up in the Kingsley area and had lived in the Sioux City area all of her adult life.

She married LeRoy "Bud" Hartman on May 7, 1941. Mr. Hartman died May 3, 2002, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Crescent Park United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Gregory Kenkel, Melissa Kenkel and Stephan Kenkel, all of Sioux City; two great-grandchildren, Allison and Anna Kenkel; three brothers, Howard Knudsen of Merrill, Iowa, Vern Knudsen and his wife, Margaret of Moville, Iowa, and Charles Knudsen and his wife, Margaret of Kingsley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Lois Kenkel; two brothers, her twin, Russell, and Glen; and two sisters, Thelma Taylor and Vera Thompson.
