LAWTON, Iowa -- Bert Harrison Jr., 92, of Lawton died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, with the Rev. Wayne Peach officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 3 to 6 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City.

Mr. Harrison was born June 18, 1911, in rural Moville, Iowa, the son of Bert and Roszetta (Galusha) Harrison Sr. He attended country school in Woodbury County, Iowa.

He married Bernice Anna Woldt in 1935 in Kingsley, Iowa. He was a lifelong farmer in the Plymouth and Woodbury counties area. She passed away Feb. 28, 2001, in Hudson, Fla.

He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed cards, billiards, shuffleboard and traveling following his retirement.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Dennis and Diane Harrison of Midland, Mich.; four grandchildren, Noel Harrison and his wife, Dawn of Midland, Mich., Jennifer and her husband, John Kahler of Tiffon, Ohio, Candice Avila of Denver, Colo., and Laura Johnson of England; a brother, Bud Harrison of Sioux City; nine great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Cayla and Sarah Harrison, Sagan and Jack Kahler, Troy George, Tye George and his wife, Teresa, Crystal Laird and Olivia Weaver; two great-great-grandchildren, Rebekah and Nick George; and an additional son, Gilbert Harrison and his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Anna (Woldt) Harrison; a daughter, Marvel Lundeen; two brothers, Merlin and Willard Harrison; a sister, Lillian Hansen; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Noel and Dawn Harrison, Jennifer and John Kahler, Candice Avila and Troy George.
