LAWTON, Iowa -- Edna L. Harrison, 95, of Lawton died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Countryside Retirement Home.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton, with the Rev. Bruce Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton. Arrangements are being handled by Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Harrison was born May 5, 1907, the daughter of Thomas and Helena (Schwartz) Porsch, near Kingsley, Iowa. She was raised in that area.

She married Merlin L. Harrison on March 15, 1926, near Hinton, Iowa. The couple farmed south of Moville, Iowa, for about six years. They then moved to the Lawton area and farmed there during their married life. Mr. Harrison died on May 12, 1991, in Sioux City.

Mrs. Harrison was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed helping her husband with the farm and raising her children.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty and her husband, Lloyd Nobbe of Lawton, Shirley Weinrich of San Diego, Calif., and Violet and her husband, Walter Reinholdt of Lawton; a sister, Anita Ledgerwood of Le Mars, Iowa; six grandchildren, Pat and her husband, Bruce Simmons, Mike and his wife, Janiece Rogers, Rhonda and her husband, Duane Reeder, Tim and his wife, Sally Reinholdt, Renee Reinholdt and Marty Weinrich; eight great-grandchildren, Kimberly Cropley, Matthew Trexel, Nathan Trexel, Ethan Simmons, Natasha Reeder, Miranda Reeder, Jeffrey Rogers and Jill Rogers; and six great-great-grandchildren, Brett Cropley, Tricia Cropley, Steven Trexel, Autumn Trexel, Mitchell Trexel and Regan Trexel.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Frieda Roepke; two brothers, Bill Porsch and Herman Porsch; and a son-in-law, Wayne Weinrich.

Pallbearers will be Eric Klein, Duane Reeder, Bruce Simmons, David Cooper, Larry Hansen and Wilber Boggs.
