AKRON, Iowa -- Dorothy "Berniece" Hansen, 84, of Rapid City, S.D., formerly of Akron, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, at Rapid City Regional Hospital due to complications from pneumonia.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Glad Tidings Lighthouse Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael Ring officiating. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Riverside Cemetery, Akron. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Carlsen Funeral Home-Schroeder Chapel in Akron.

Berniece was born March 19, 1921, in Akron to Bert and Lillian (Butler) Peck. She spent all of her life in Iowa and South Dakota.

She was married to Vernon Clark in August 1940. They divorced in 1950. She then married Henry Hansen in August 1974. He died in September 1981.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice (Alvin) Morehouse of Rapid City, and Donna (Daryl) Brassfield of Helena, Mont.; two sons, Gary (Linda) Clark of Sioux City, and Randy Clark of Coral Cables, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Lou (Robert) Rich, Marlys Brewer and Marilyn Peck, all of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents; a daughter; two sisters; and four brothers.
