MRS. HAZEL SHILT
Mrs. Joe (Hazel) Shilt, 83, of LeMars died Saturday (Sept. 3, 1983) at Plymouth Manor Care Center in LeMars.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church in LeMars, Rev. George Jennings and Rev. Alvern Kinrade officiated. Burial was in the LeMars Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shilt, the former Hazel Summers, was born Aug. 21, 1900, in Mercer County, Mo., to Jefferson L. and Nellie Seaton Summers. She moved to LeMars in 1938. She married Joe Shilt Oct. 8, 1921, in Powersville, Mo.
Mrs. Shilt was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Sunshine Club and the National Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary.
Survivors are her husband, Joe; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Joann) Albert of LeMars; one grandson, Larry Albert, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; two great grandsons, Joe and John Albert.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
