MRS. ALBENA BOGENRIEF
MERRILL, Iowa—Mrs. (Albena) Bogenrief, 89, of Merrill, died Thursday at a LeMars nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Melbourne United Methodist Church in rural Merrill, with Rev. Dale Stone officiating. Burial will be in the Floyd Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mrs. Bogenrief, the former Albena Winter, was born on July 10, 1894, in Glenwood. She came to Plymouth County at the age of 13 and remained in the Merrill area the remainder of her life. She married Art Bogenrief on March 18, 1912, near Merrill. He preceded in death in 1973.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. W. J. (Caroline) Wood of LeMars; two sons, James of Merrill, and Donald of Dana Point, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Helen) Lentz of LeMars; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bogenrief was a member of the Melbourne United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Farm Bureau, Plymouth County Hall of Fame, and a past member of the Hinton Garden Club.
