MRS. PAULINE C. ADLER
Mrs. Pauline C. Adler, 135 2nd Ave. S.E., LeMars, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 1956, at the age of 91 years.
Pauline Christina Schmid was born in Boseigheim, Germany on February 20, 1865. She was reared and educated in Germany. At the age of 20 years she came to Plymouth County.
Here she was married to Christian F. Adler. Five children were born to the couple: Samuel E., of Marshall, Minn.; Lydia, at home; Ernest, Sophia and Louise (Mrs. Louise Scott of Topeka, Kansas.)
After the death of her husband on June 15, 1898, she left the farm and moved to LeMars. Sophia and Ernest preceded her in death.
Besides her three surviving children, 5 grandchildren; Samuel Eugene Adler of Midland, Michigan; Gerald Adler, of Minneapolis, Minn.; Dr. Shirley Howard of Waco, Texas; Mrs. Dennis Stelpflug of LeMars; and Mrs. Thomas Shartle Jr., of Houston, Texas, survive. Three great-grandchildren also are survivors.
Mrs. Adler was a member of the United Evangelical Church since 1886 and a charter member of the Ladies Aid and Missionary Society of that church.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. from the Calvary church with Mauer’s Funeral Home in charge. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
