OCCUPATION: He and his first wife moved to Westfield, Iowa, where he farmed until becoming a bus mechanic for the Westfield School System. He later was employed as a bus mechanic for Kingsley School System until retiring in 1980. His first wife died Feb. 7, 1979.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; four sons and their wives; four daughters; a step son; two step daughters and their husbands; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; eight great step grandchildren; a brother, Lee of Florence, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Helen Gries of Sioux City; and two brothers-in-law, Don Diediker of Laurel, Neb., and Duane Diediker of Dixon, Neb.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: an infant daughter, Lora Beth; a granddaughter, Kimberly Gries; two brothers, Ernest and Rudy; and a sister, Luella Wilson.
