BETTY DREESZEN

LE MARS, Iowa—Betty Dreeszen, 75, of Canton, S.D., formerly of LeMars, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Canton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Tea (S.D.) Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements by Anderson Funeral Home in Canton.

Mrs. Dreeszen was born June 11, 1924, in LeMars, the daughter of Fay and Edna (Talbott) Smith. She attended school and graduated from Westfield (Iowa) High School.

She married Virgil Robert “Bob” Dreeszen on Aug. 14, 1942. The couple lived in LeMars; Sheldon, Iowa; Worthington, Minn.; and Beresford, S.D., and moved to Canton in 1971. He died May 22, 1991.

She belonged to Canton United Methodist Church and enjoyed crafts and crocheting.

Survivors include three sons, Robert and his wife, Carol of Ugashik Village, Alaska, Dennis and his wife, Nancy, of Sioux Falls, and Terry of Beresford; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister and her husband, Dorothy and Art Talbott of Fairmont, Minn.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dawn.
