LOUISE DRECKMAN

LE MARS, Iowa—Louise M. Dreckman, 88, a lifelong resident of LeMars, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 1995, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars following a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in LeMars with the Rev. Jerome Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a Christian Mother’s rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., at the Feuerstein Funeral Home, LeMars.

Miss Dreckman was born Sept. 22, 1907, on the family farm in Stanton Township, south of LeMars. She was the daughter of Bernard and Christina (Deters) Dreckman. She attended St. Joseph’s Parochial School. A seamstress, she had made custom draperies and curtains for many ears for a number of area people. She did customer drapery work with Custom Interiors and Sherwin Williams in LeMars. She worked as a housekeeper for Monsignor Dean Walker for many years.

Miss Dreckman was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the church Guild and Christian Mother’s Society.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Cyrilla Nordstrom of LeMars; many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Dreckman of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Velma Wiltgen of LeMars.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Omer in infancy, and Marcellus, Rudy and Andrew; two sisters, Ida Rolfes and Rita Schafer and three brothers-in-law, Richard Schafer, Reitzell Nordstrom and Frank Rolfes.
