RUTH BAACK DOSE

LE MARS, Iowa—Ruth Baack Dose, 88, of LeMars died Friday, March 31, 1995, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church ELCA in LeMars with the Rev. Dave Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 7-8 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dose, the former Ruth Anna Heeren, was born Feb. 26, 1907, in Grant Township, rural LeMars, the daughter of John and Anna (Monke) Heeren. She was raised and attended country school in Grant Township. She married George Baack April 18, 1924, in Sioux City. The couple farmed west of Craig until moving to LeMars in 1943. In 1945 they moved to a farm southeast of LeMars. He died Nov. 2, 1963, in LeMars. She moved to town in 1964. She married Ed Dose of Mapleton. They spent their time between LeMars and Mapleton. He died in 1971. In earlier years she enjoyed attending dances.

Mrs. Dose was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in LeMars.

Survivors include a son and his wife, John E. and Alta Baack of Wellesley Hills, Mass.; a sister, Rose C. Ludwigs, of LeMars; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Laurence, Walter, Harry and Richard Heeren; a son, Kenneth G. Baack; a daughter, Shirley Pageler and two grandchildren.
