DALE L. DIRKS
LE MARS, Iowa—Dale Leonard Dirks, 41, of rural Le Mars died unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 2, 1995, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ireton, with Pastor Allan Bidne officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Mr. Dirks was born Dec. 26, 1953. He was baptized Jan. 17, 1954, and confirmed March 30, 1969, in Akron. He graduated from Le Mars High School. He was a farmer, mechanic, and operated a trucking firm for many years.
Mr. Dirks was a member of the Northwest Iowa Tractor Pullers Association and the Civil Defense from LeMars for several years. He was a member of the FAA and had received the Iowa Farmers Award.
Survivors include his parents, Leonard and Dorothy (Ohlrichs) Dirks of Hawarden; two brothers and their wives, Dennis and Peggy of LeMars and Dwight and Jolene of Sioux City; a sister, Lynette and her husband, Dennis James, of Pierre, S.D.; and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Kent Brown, Allan Feuerhelm, Allen Lucken, Tom Gallas, Dave Lehner, Gayland Tapper, Charlie Oetken, and Jerry Schlichte.
