CAROL CALSBEEK

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa---Carol Calsbeek, 52, of Spirit Lake, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Reformed Church in Hull, Iowa, with the Rev. Arnold Punt officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 – 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 – 8 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Mrs. Calsbeek was born June 30, 1947, in LeMars, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Louise (Vande Berg) Punt. She attended Sioux Center (Iowa) Community High School and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Sioux City.

She married John P. Calsbeek on May 3, 1968, in Sioux Center. The couple lived in LeMars, where she was employed with Medical Associates. They later moved to Hull, where she was employed with Sioux Center Community Hospital in the CHEARS/Hospice Department. They moved to Spirit Lake, where she worked as a nurse in the Estherville and Spirit Lake medical clinics.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. While living in Hull, she served on the Boyden-Hull School board. She enjoyed reading, walking, fishing, and water-sports.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Stacie and her husband John Tigges of Lincoln, Neb., and Lizbeth Calsbeek of Holland, Mich.; a son and his wife, Dean and Tina of Ft. Collins, Colo.; her parents; a sister and her husband, Ruth and Fred Corbin of Sioux Center; and grandmother, Paulline (Intveld) Punt of Sioux Center.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Byker, Randy Punt, Marlyn Zeutenhorst, Kevin Kots, Clark Corbin and Dennis Jansen.
