Marlene M. Henry, 65, of Kingsley, died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Marlene Martha Yates was born May 22, 1942, on the family farm near Westfield, the daughter of Clarence and Leona (Kisting) Yates. The family resided in Brunsville prior to moving to Le Mars. Marlene attended school at Le Mars Community. Following her education she worked as a waitress.

On July 30, 1960 Marlene was united in marriage to Gerald "Corky" Hagan at the First United Methodist Church in Le Mars. The couple lived in Oklahoma for a brief time while Corky was in the service. The couple returned to the Kingsley area following Corky's discharge from the military. Corky died in 1972. Marlene later married Emmett Henry on June 6, 1996 at the Kingsley United Methodist Church. Emmett died in 2003.

Marlene was employed at the Kingsley Dental Clinic for 35 years, recently retiring in May 2007. She was a member of the Kingsley United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered at the Kingsley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Marlene will be lovingly remembered by her children, Doug and Tammy Hagan of Alton, Iowa, Valerie and John Ites of Laurie, Mo., and David Hagan of Kingsley; grandchildren Angela, Amanda, Beth, Amy, Hanna, Ashley, Brittany, and Curt; great-grandchildren Hailee, McKenzie, Jake, Vanessa, Desiree, Liberty, and Ryley; sisters Darlene and Selmer Bergerson of Knoxville, Tenn., Arlene Klemme of Akron, and Eilene and Jerry Rolling of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Gerald "Corky" Hagan; second husband Emmett William Henry; twin infant daughters Denise and Diane; and a sister Charlene Williams.

Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Kingsley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Roger Kurtenbach will officiate. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today (Monday) at the Johnson-Earnest Funeral Home of Kingsley. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer services at 7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Tuesday.
